PROCESS SAFETY<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>

Process safety hazards can give rise to major incidents involving the release of potentially dangerous materials, the release of energy (such as fires and explosions), or both. Process safety incidents can result in multiple injuries and fatalities, environmental and property damage.

Process safety involves making sure facilities are well designed, safely operated and properly maintained to prevent leaks of hazardous materials. Our Process Safety Management System is composed of the following 4 pillars:<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We apply structured processes to manage our asset integrity and prevent leaks, spills, and any other technical failures or breakdowns in both operated and non-operated assets. We aim to prevent the reoccurrence of known major process safety incidents by focusing on main causes and key barriers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE PLANS<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>

Point West\u2019s Emergency Response Plans have been designed to provide executive management, operations management, field management and field staff with a general guideline for the initial response to an emergency and an overview of their responsibilities during an emergency. For the Emergency Response Plans to be effective, all employees must be familiar with their roles and responsibilities during an emergency and be prepared to enact the Emergency Response Plan at a moment\u2019s notice.

The priorities of all Point West Emergency Response Plans are as follows:

1) Ensure the safety of workers, responders, and the public.
2) Reduce the potential for destruction of property or product losses.
3) Reduce the magnitude of environmental and other impacts.
4) Assist response personnel in determining and performing proper remedial action quickly.
5) Reduce recovery time and cost.
